Most students learn their lessons with the teacher doing most of the explaining and understanding of the subject matter at hand.  This kind of teaching method does not help develop the student’s thinking skills or his ability to analyze and reflect.  Today, the educator realizes that students need to go outside the classroom and avail of the facilities of information technology and be on their own in their quest for information and to acquire knowledge.  .
We can make our students use their creativity and HOTS or Higher Order Thinking Skills with the use of Computers in doing projects. It is important to remember that there is an appropriate tool or programs in the Computer for a certain skills need to develop for a Higher Thinking Skills.

How can a software enhances the creativity and skills of a learner?

The software enhances the creativity and skills of a learner by letting them explore and give them independence on what they wanted on the task or activity given to them. In every discussion there should be activity using with the technology.

Just like what we are doing in these particular subject, I can say to myself that I learn something because I really apply and flourish my basic computer knowledge. Using these software that have mentioned in this lesson are all useful in enhancing the creativity and and skills of a learner. The software that can be downloaded or bought in any sights in the internet are useful but be careful in choosing the program that will be present in the class, there are some programs that  are attractive on the eye but it does not contain a 100% correct content.

reflection on cooperative learning with the computer

The teacher should give remind the class that everybody should participate for the good of the group what will be the grade of the group that will be there individual grade.

1:1 ratio is an ideal still to be achieved in education system, thus in countries which lacks those technological facilities such as computers, the creativity of the teachers are being challenged, thus results on cooperative learning in which learner are grouped together to accomplished a task using the computer. These promote interaction and learning for these enables the learner to share, compare and contrast their ideas. Some researcher says computer will allow isolation to learner, but majority of the learners like cooperative learning because as the saying goes “ TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE “.

Many activities can lead to learning.  Some activities, however, are more effective that others when attempting to reach a certain goal. For instance, a person will learn certain skills quicker if they are “learned through doing” rather than through listening to a lecture or through reading.  Intellectual skills such as cooperation, communication and learning are most effectively gained by “doing” and by reflection on these actions.

Cooperative learning implies more than simply placing students in small groups and asking then to complete an assignment.  If group work is limited to this, the process can be counter-productive.  This is especially the case for “weaker” students, since the “stronger” students will tend to dominate the various aspects of the group process.  Obviously, if interaction leads to learning then one needs to interact, and especially to interact in a meaningful way.  Group work cannot be considered cooperative learning unless it is organized in such a way that students participate in the interaction. This also holds true to the Big Myth, in which the computer plays such an important role.

I choose her account because she is interesting woman. I admire her positive attitude and strong will. One thing that realizes me to change and be a mature woman as she is. Lots of funny moments with her, and I think if I'm with her I forget the world. Meaning I forget those problems and leave stress because I am happy with her company. She is a great girl because problems may come she is still has the courage to face all of those and proving to people that she can do what others can. What she has with her family is quite same to mine also since I grew up with my grandmother. And she her mother and father are in separate but she is showing that those are just trials in life that no one dictate her what to do.

thinking but besides from that he is a mama's boy, one thing that makes me feel that he appreciate his mother. And also he has the good heart and willingness to help to his classmate. He is still hiding on his shell. I wanted him to get out of it and show the world what his capabilities as a student of CBSUA. This man is of great family because his actions shows. I admire his love to his mother. Thank you because I know you who shares my weaknesses and strengths.

Choosing her is my pleasure. Because she is my angel in times of my problem especially those are not familiar to me in using the technology. She is gentle and lovely daughter of her mother. I know she is also intelligent. But I observed that she kept only what is on her mind. I wanted her to change also and show the world who is Ms. Rochel Petil. I know she can do a lot better than what she is showing to us today. Her attitude speaks her ability and integrity as a human. Computer as a tool

Teacher nowadays are employing computer as tool in teaching. It can be an information tool where it provides vast amounts of information. It can be a communication tool by connecting to the internet you can send messages through e-mail or you can even chat with your friend. It can be a constructive tool where you can use computer application in creating projects by the used of Microsoft word, excel, power point and etc. also it can be a situating tool where you can create an images made in 3 dimensions.

          As a future teacher, I will employ the use of computer in my class. And I will let my students’ use websites which is educational websites that is useful in surfing for their assignments, projects and if they want to have an advance study.  Google, Yahoo, Mozilla Firefox are some of websites that I will be suggesting to my student to use in searching information about the lesson that I will be discussing since these three websites is the most common websites being used in my present life. And I think these websites are the easy websites to search in the computer. When it comes to videos, I suggest the website YouTube to use by my students.

As a student I prefer to use the websites that I mentioned before which are Google, Yahoo, Mozilla and YouTube because this is the common websites that a student is using in my school years. Also these websites were the first website that I knew since my high school years. I know there are so many websites that can help me in   doing my assignments and projects so I am looking forward to have discovered a new website.

reflection (computer use as a situating tool)

Situating tools in Africa, north pole, and solar system is an exciting part of learning because not everybody are given chances to go to that particular place, because of this the situating learning is needed to figure out what it looks there in that particular place.  And the experience after doing the task,  teaches students to realize that it is  how it looks like. Flight simulation, space travel will also give an unforgettable experience to students. Through this task the students socialize to others and share their own point of view of the particular task given. And also if the students are learning we can say that the successfully teach the students. There   so many ways to make teaching and learning .process beneficial and memorable to students just one of them is situating tools.

reflection on student centered learning

Yes I do agree that the student centered learning can be noisy and unwieldy, but in everything there is exemption and that depends on the facilitator inside the class. The teacher should take in charge in the peace and order inside and likewise with the maintaining the cleanliness, even though student are learning on their own, they deserve an organized classroom for them to stay in focus on what they are doing.

But for sure the student centered learning is more challenging than waiting for the teacher to feed the information so that learners will learn. The learners are more motivated and focus on what they are doing. Like what we are doing in this particular subject we are focus on doing the given activity for us to comply with the requirements.

Even hardships in life cannot be avoided the student in this particular learning are more experienced enough to face anything on their own.

reflection on computer as ICT

Through these computer helps in the learning process by providing access of information, foster creative and social knowledge building and enhance communication skills of the students.  And also I am thankful that I belong to these digital learners because I enjoy the benefits of the computer in my study. Computer really helps and makes my study easy and comfortable and makes me motivated.

The term ICT is also used to refer to the convergence of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution and management.

reflection on CAI

       I don’t agree that CAI can replace teachers in the classroom in some other time in the future because even though there is what we call student centered learning the presence of a teacher is still needed so that peace and order inside the class will be maintain.

The role of computer as a tutor will just be the channel of information where teachers job is lessen. And I do believe that CAI will help teachers to improve the style of their instruction and motivation to students that leads to active learning.

As what Vygotsky’s  said in his scaffolding in the child and development , an individual needs the guide of the older one in order to learn ,so teachers cannot be replace by any other kinds of innovation of technology.

REFLECTION#4

Multi-tasking is one of the most college students are doing. For me multi- tasking is good and it brought advantage to me, since I’m doing it sometimes. But for the young ones who are not well ready to multi-tasking or I mean they are indulge to it. And they should make things step by step in with the use of technology so that they will be train to order things in life.

Most college students are doing this like me because I am mature enough to do it. I can balance things and understand the use of technology. And the bad things or disadvantage of multi-tasking is lack of focus. That’s why, things that out of order or I mean out of place. Some are refuse what to put in focus first. Many people are doing multi-tasking because it’s easy today because of the help of technology. But the fact there is that we should lose the values and gratitude towards to our family, parents and friends. Balanced everything in life not apply all the time this widely term “multi-tasking”, even though  there is technology to help us. And we should not forget that God is there to help us even though we are in burden of something. Because of technology also some of our  young generations  today do not go to church, because they are addicted to some games that technology brought and forget some good values that our ancestors taught us.

Reflection#2 Gallito,BiadaS.

                Computer shops are widespread around the community and schools but used mainly for social media and games. And such may brought dehumanizing effects due to excessive use for games and other forms of social media. How can a learner maximize use of computer resources as they may be available in schools or at home.

                It’s true that the computer shops are widespread around the community and schools but these are mainly use only for games, and social media but sometimes use in educational activity like research and doing some assignments. As I  experience,  every time I rented a computer some students are busy and noisy inside the room, some are shouting and are disagreeing about what to do next. Some are trying to say something that these things are next to be done hit that, where to hide and when to fire. But I’m happy with the benefits, in my case like the Facebook and sometimes when I check my yahoo account. Because through technology when you had a heavy problem or something that disappoint you, by just clicking these some social media, I forget just a while my problem.

                Nowadays to be maximizes the use of computer we must all be a responsible user. Through this we can avoid some problems. And also give example to the young ones that computer should be used properly not for curiosity that will lead to criminal acts. Many of the adolescents today misunderstood the use of computer, because they are born with it without any education of the disadvantages and advantages of it.

Reflection #3

I do feel that I belong to the technology or digital generation since I enjoying one of its benefits. Like the social media, game , internet and so forth. And it brought enlightenment to myself for I was able to express myself, my opinions, share something from my friends and click the like if I am liking something. And also two of my sisters are out of country so I was able to communicate with them through social media like Facebook. I was able to update myself of how they are doing since they are far from me. It was amazing also that I was able see some memorable pictures that my family, friends and my newly friends for I just met them through social media.

I do feel that I should support and stride along information technology revolution since through these things it made our work easier and faster compare to before. Even though there are advantages and disadvantages all of these. What I can be sure of is that we should be all a responsible user of technology. Understanding its negativity and positivity that will brought to life. And let the young generation be open minded of what really technology is.

Reflection #1

I remember my childhood days, the first technology we had was a radio. A simple radio that needs a battery in order to function. As time pass by, my father bought a television with the size of 14”, everybody in the family was happy and excited on what to come next. We used radio when we want to hear a radio drama, music either FM or canned music or the recorded one. One thing that amazed me when I first watch television, I saw pictures and some persons that are not familiar to me, and those handsome and beautiful artist. And also through the use of television I was able to watch news whether good or bad that is also beneficial to me because before we had a history teacher who includes the some important news in his examination. And their came a cellphone, when my uncle showed me the 5110 model of Nokia before I was not sure if it is a cellphone or a telephone, but I know that a telephone has a wire connected to it.As time goes by, innovations of this kind came in and makes human comfortable in life like me. Because computer goes along the way, some social media are known like Facebook, I am enjoying when I share, like and comment some pictures or quotes posted by my friends or loved ones on my account. And through this kind of social media I was able to make friends from other countries, even though I’m not good in speaking English through them, I’m practicing to speak well in English even just through text.
